Orient Beach is arguably the most beautiful beach located in all of Saint Martin and receives a large number of visitors because of its breath taking views. Orient Beach also is one of the most gently sloped into the sea and light surf. The changing of the tides has no impact on beach goers as there is lots of room to enjoy the beach.

The beach chairs and umbrellas for rent here are reasonably priced and are of very good quality. Just select any chair not claimed with a beach tower and someone will come by to collect the rent. Some of the vendors use a colored band system, if it has a band at top of chair, someone has already reserved it.

Since the hurricane, most all of the bars and restaurants on Orient Beach were destroyed. Vendors have set up in make shift facilities and offer drinks, beer, spirits, water and food though but a much more limited menu.

Orient Beach is well known for its nude portion of the beach, which is clearly marked and is one of the few beaches where au la natural sun bathing is legal. In the early morning hours (prior to 9 AM), nude bathers frequently walk the entire beach and then stay to the far right side of beach thereafter. Photography is strictly prohibited on the nude portion of the beach. If you are walking the beach, feel free to join those in soaking up the sun.
